I started my career in refrigeration as a part-time worker during college. Doing odd jobs; as a helper/laborer, even as a administrative assistant. I Then started going out with the installers building chambers, refrigeration lines and electrical. In 5yrs I was a senior technician. Supervising the install of refrigeration systems, starting new systems and completing service calls. I remained at my first company for 11+yrs total. At which point I decided to get my NC refrigeration contractors license. I also moved into a position with Bahnson Environmental Specialties; as a start-up technician. Involving the initial energization, charging and testing of various environmental chambers (cold rooms, clean cold rooms, warm rooms, freezers, cascade ultra low freezers ….). Mainly in cGMP pharmaceutical facilities environments. Helping to resolve any issues found during startup; with the help of mechanical/electrical engineers has been the best part of my job so far.
