About Chidera Precious

I am passionate about driving systems change at the intersection of child rights, youth advocacy, and public health. With over 6 years of experience leading grassroots and national initiatives, I work to advance child protection & development, youth empowerment, drug policy reform, and harm reduction in Nigeria and across Africa. Currently, I serve as Advocacy Lead at YouthRISE Nigeria, where I champion evidence-based policies and youth-centered approaches in drug use response, harm reduction and youth empowerment. I am also the Founder of Child Advocacy for Development and Safety Initiative (CADSI), a nonprofit dedicated to protecting vulnerable children through advocacy, education, and community-led action. Our campaigns — such as Your Voice Is Strength against child sexual abuse — have mobilized volunteers nationwide and reached thousands of children and caregivers. My work spans across designing advocacy agendas, convening community consultations, leading policy dialogues, and building multi-stakeholder coalitions. I am especially committed to empowering young people to become advocates in their own right — whether by training youth champions, mobilizing survivors, or creating platforms for meaningful engagement. As a speaker, I have shared insights on child protection, liberty, and harm reduction at national and international platforms. I believe in the power of youth voices to disrupt harmful norms, influence policies, and build inclusive communities.
