About Chihiro Kato

I am passionate about transforming global trade and finance through blockchain and digital innovation. Starting my career at Mitsubishi Corporation, I spent over a decade managing coal imports, risk management, and project finance—where I first encountered the inefficiencies of paper-based trade. Later, at TradeWaltz and XDC Network (SBI XDC APAC JV), I focused on digitizing trade documents and introducing blockchain-based trade finance solutions. Today, as Head of Overseas Promotion at Soramitsu CBDC Co, Ltd, I lead international collaborations on CBDC, stablecoin, and digital bond projects—particularly in the Pacific Islands and Asia. My mission is simple: to bridge the gap between traditional financial systems and Web3 technology, creating a more inclusive and efficient global economy. Always open to partnerships, cross-border projects, and speaking engagements on CBDC, trade finance, and Web3 transformation.
