About Chima Okigbo

I developed a passion for architecture at a young age, spending countless hours playing with Lego blocks while growing up in Ibadan, Nigeria. This passion was further fueled by completing an intensive six-week architecture program at Cornell University in 1983. I hold a Master of Architecture degree from Syracuse University School of Architecture. I have been involved in various projects, from community-built playgrounds to cutting-edge research laboratories like the Porter Neuroscience Research Center (National Institutes of Health) in Bethesda, Maryland, USA. My expertise includes construction documentation and administration, project management, site supervision, standards compliance, and facilities management. Notable projects I've worked on include Harrah's Casino in New Orleans, Philadelphia International Airport Expansion, the Digital Bridge Institute for the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), and facilities managed on behalf of the United States Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). I have also demonstrated a strong commitment to security and safety while working with U.S. federal security directors. In addition to my diverse architectural experience, I have taught college-level art courses and volunteered for the Architecture in Education (AIE) program in Philadelphia, PA, demonstrating a strong commitment to community engagement. My strengths include computer-aided drafting, freehand sketching, model building, and delivering quality projects from start to finish with a strong work ethic.
