About Chintalapati Radhika

Hello, I’m Radhika, a science teacher with 23 years of experience and a proud recipient of a Certificate of Appreciation from the Lions Club for my outstanding contributions to education. I am also a passionate butterfly enthusiast, having created the world’s largest origami butterfly, which earned a place in the Limca Book of Records. My commitment to butterfly conservation has been recognized through national-level prizes for my poster presentations on butterfly gardens. I love enhancing my students' learning experiences by arranging field trips to natural farming practitioners and hosting inspiring talks by sustainability champions. I've conducted science exhibitions, where some of my students reached the national level for their innovative projects such as sensor systems for irrigation and sensor based control systems for waste segregation incorporating sustainability practices into daily life. Furthermore, I initiated projects like compost pits and rainwater harvesting areas to promote practical environmental stewardship. I’m particularly proud of collecting 500 kg of e-waste for the 'Karo Sambhav' project, making me the top e-waste collector from South India. I also conducted signature campaigns for the 'Kids for Tigers' program by Sanctuary Magazine. Alongside all of this, I’m keenly interested in learning more about energy conservation. I believe that we can inspire the next generation to cherish and protect our environment while making responsible choices for a sustainable future.
