About Chip Sockwell

I help companies bring their software development to the next level. I've developed software in large docile corporations and small grueling startups. I've been at this for 17 years now, longer if you count the C64 and IBM XT Basic. If there was a wrong way to develop software, I've done it at least twice. I've had to adopt the old entrepreneurial spirit that sometimes failure is more valuable than success. That ethos, along with a healthy dose of grit, has lead to some great accomplishments along the way- I developed a Saas cloud base document translation (EDI, XML, JSON) service hosted in 2 clouds (AWS and Azure)- I built https://commerceapi.io which powers https://dev.logicbroker.com/- In one company I Increased check-ins 1600% and Production releases 650% and increased production up-time from 92% to 99.97%- In one company I implemented continuous release blue-green phased cloud deployments with gated checkpoints and increased production up-time from 95% to 99.98%- I published best practice advice and examples and developed and a lightweight framework to an internal developer community of developers If you want to get me excited mention- API first- Failing fast- User Experience- Automating all the things- Rick and Morty!
