About Chiquitha Lloyd

Chiquitha Lloyd has been with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools since 2002 and currently serves as the Director of Diversity & Inclusion. In this position, Lloyd leads the district's efforts to build a culture of equity and inclusion for all students, families and employees. This includes district policies, procedures and classroom practices. In addition, she serves as the chief administrator for developing/implementing supplier diversity program initiatives, supplier development, system-wide compliance, and community outreach. She has over 17 years of research, facilitation and project management experience.As a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a major in Psychology (Political Science and Human Development minors), Chiquitha has continued to influence the business community on the importance of inclusive procurement practices. Under her leadership, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools’ MWSBE utilization has grown from $14M to $98M in procurement transactions. Currently, 40 percent of eligible expenditures are spent with MWSBE firms.In 2013, Chiquitha successfully led the merger of the Carolinas and Virginia Regional Minority Supplier Development Councils. Under her leadership, the organization was geographically restrutured to meet the needs of its corporate members and diverse suppliers. All operations, programs and services, IT, communications, and board governance was successfully integrated to allow for a seamless transition and new service offerings.Chiquitha serves or has served on the ASPIRE Community Capital, Race Matters for Juvenile Justice Leadership Team, Board of Directors of the Carolinas-Virginia Minority Supplier Development Councils, Inc. Board Chair, the North Carolina M/WBE Coordinator’s Network, Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Diversity Business Council, Carolinas Minority Supplier Development Council Metrolina Regional Advisory Committee Chair, Small Business Resource Roundtable, The Diversity Forum, and United Way of Central Carolinas Community Building Council.
