About Chitra Gupta

With over 23 years of experience in the insurance industry, I am a seasoned risk management specialist with a passion for underwriting, analysis, and coaching. I recently completed Risk Management certification from the University of Toronto, and CRM certification from GRMII and working as a Corporate Underwriting Analyst at Desjardins General Insurance Group, one of the largest and most reputable insurers in Canada. In my current role, I analyze and assess the risk exposure of different files, help develop operational processes, policies, and coverages, communicate with various stakeholders, and draft correspondence to explain case decisions. I also leverage my skills in leadership, change management, and competency development to support and advise operational underwriting and front-line staff. Previously, I was a Skills Development Coach and an Underwriting Quality Specialist/Auditor at Desjardins, where I led and contributed to several national projects, developed technical and soft skill competencies of agents and managers, and ensured quality standards and best practices were met. I was also the team lead of the coaching team and played a vital role in change management and introducing new processes. I am always eager to learn new skills, take on new challenges, and deliver value to my team, organization, and clients.
