About Chivas Guillote

Dr. Chivas Guillote is a Healthcare Executive, Nurse Practitioner & Paramedic living and working in Houston, Texas. Chivas is board-certified as a Nurse Practitioner in Emergency (ENP), Adult/Gerontology Acute Care (AGACNP) and Family Practice (FNP). He is a board-certified Flight Nurse and Critical Care Nurse. Chivas is licensed in Texas as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and Paramedic. Chivas is a Fellow of the Academy of Emergency Medical Services (FAEMS). Working closely with the Medical Director, Chivas provides executive leadership over the clinical mission at Harris County Emergency Corps, a CAAS-accredited 911 ambulance provider serving North Houston. Chivas is also a solo coverage NP in the Emergency Department at a few small critical access hospitals in Texas. He is also a casual faculty member at UTHealth Houston in the Emergency Nurse Practitioner program. Chivas is a member of the Texas Emergency Medical Task Force #6 as a Nurse Practitioner on the Mobile Medical Unit. Before his current roles, Chivas worked in several operational, clinical, and leadership positions for Montgomery County Hospital District EMS, Cypress Creek EMS, Memorial Hermann Life Flight, and in the CVICU at Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center. Chivas received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Hons) from UTHealth Houston. He returned to UTHealth, obtained a master's degree in nursing, and completed the Family Nurse Practitioner program. He obtained additional Post-master’s certificates in Emergency/Trauma Care and Adult/Gerontology Acute Care through the Cizik School of Nursing. While training to become a Nurse Practitioner, Chivas completed rotations in Family Practice, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Neuro Critical Care, Advanced Heart Failure, Cardiovascular Critical Care, and Hospital Medicine. His rotations were conducted at several prominent Texas Medical Center establishments, including Houston Methodist, Memorial Hermann, St. Luke’s Health, Ben Taub General Hospital, HCA Houston Healthcare, and Harris Health outpatient clinics. Chivas received his Doctor of Nursing Practice with an emphasis in executive leadership from The Johns Hopkins University.
