About Chloe Doyle

I am a recent PhD graduate that worked in the auto-inflammatory group at The Westmead Institute for Medical Research, focused on Crohn's disease, a chronic and often-devastating auto-inflammatory disease of the gut. Crohn's disease occurs when the immune system attacks harmless gut bacteria, which are essential for the proper functioning of this organ. If left unchecked, this uncontrolled reaction can lead to a state of chronic inflammation resulting in significant tissue damage. In this position, I optimised and developed 25+ colour flow cytometry panels to identify a range of immune cells in human intestinal tissue and compare them to the proportions present in Crohn's affected tissue. In 2021, I published an optimised protocol to examine and interrogate mononuclear phagocytes (MNP) from human intestinal tissue (PMID: 34566985). In 2022, I published my first OMIP (PMID: 35018731) where I extensively review the effects of enzymatic cleavage on cell surface receptors and present a 25-colour panel to identify innate lymphoid cells, natural killer cells, mucosal-associated invariant T cells and yd T cells freshly isolated from human intestinal tissue.
