About Chloe Tapper

As an undergraduate student and throughout my educational career, I have developed excellent verbal and written communication skills, having undertaken extensive essay writing, social research and delivered oral presentations to academic staff, peers and, most recently, food and nutrition skills sessions to 5-11 year olds. As founder and former president of a Cardiff Students' Union affiliated society, I have developed excellent organisational skills including managing membership enquiries and fees, event planning, creating terms of reference and undertaking risk assessments to ensure the effective operation and economic sustainability of the society. On behalf of the society, I undertook formal training in administration, health and safety, conflict resolution and leading in difficult situations, in addition to website development, marketing, social media and engagement. I intend to enhance the skills I have acquired as president in my capacity as elected treasurer of Cardiff Labour Students. Following my A Levels, I benefited from a work experience placement with an MP. This provided a valuable insight into the plethora of enquiries received from constituents and I enjoyed the opportunity to write press releases, produce information leaflets, create social media videos and meet with key political figures, retail owners, refugees, constituents and trade union representatives. This placement affirmed my desire to work within a political environment. I am an active member of the Labour Party, participating regularly in phone banking and canvassing within my constituency.
