About Chongyang du

When I was a child growing up in Northeast China, I thought to myself I would like to understand how the world works. This curiosity of the world is the driving force for me to study abroad in the U.S. and Portugal, which country I love and call it home now. Along the journey of discovering diverse cultures, identities, belief systems and myself, I am lucky to find my other life passion - sustainability. I believe to be sustainable is not only about to be green, circular, equal, diverse, or inclusive; it is also about to be kind, altruistic, self-disciplined, collaborative, entrepreneurial….and loving. Currently with Net Purpose, a London-based impact data provider, I contribute to quantifying the impacts of companies from a product/service point of view. Previously, I worked at BNP Paribas to implement the bank´s E&S risk management and advisory framework. This includes analysing the ESG performance and risks at the company, project and transaction levels. I received my PhD degree in Sustainable Energy Systems with the research focus on environmental and social Life Cycle Assessment. Meaningful work and meaningful relationship give me ultimate joy and fulfilment at work. I am passionate about working with purpose driven organizations and bridging the gap between science and decision-making to contributing to a more sustainable future.
