His work influences fruit and vegetable breeding for better flavor, and ultimately improving produce consumption for better life.His strategic research has been successfully used by growers, retailers, and ag industry leaders as a tool to engage their customers. Chow-Ming has partnered globally with cross functional teams in their work with major growers and with retailers such as Wal-Mart, Loblaws, and H.E.B. He is responsible for identifying growth opportunities through consumer preference models.Chow-Ming’s primary focus for long term research is to relate lab measurements to sensory properties and consumer preference. The team identifies key smell compounds and texture measurements that are important to different populations.Chow-Ming speaks 3 languages (English, Mandarin, Malay) and 2 Chinese dialects (Hokkien & Cantonese).Skilled in creating user-friendly insights, Chow-Ming has a strong interest in telling impactful stories based on complicated data. In addition, Chow-Ming is skillful in technology and project management, acting as a resource to team members around him. His other interests include business analyses, human behavior, mind mapping, knowledge management, conjoint analysis, electronics and music across cultures and countries.
