About Chris Albrecht

Through almost two decades in professional biology, I have been fortunate to work on some of the most interesting and complicated projects in BC and western Canada, and have held roles that challenged me to learn, grow, and think well outside the box. Through all of this I've gained abundant experience in the planning and implementation of inventory, assessment, mitigation and monitoring projects for terrestrial wildlife and vegetation, and led or supported scientifically-driven assessments of project effects on a variety of flora and fauna. As a biologist, environmental assessment practitioner, and project manager I have worked on a wide array of large resource projects involving mining, hydroelectric developments, power transmission, natural gas processing and delivery, wind power, oil pipelines and refineries, and contaminated sites reclamation across BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Yukon. Through these projects I have held a variety of roles including PM, wildlife or terrestrial technical discipline lead, EA/regulatory specialist, and wildlife biologist. I've regularly liaised with First Nations, government, the public, various clients and other stakeholders. I've designed and implemented a diversity of wildlife and ecological inventory and monitoring studies, developed broad-scale as well as targeted mitigation and monitoring plans, and provided senior technical review and supervision at the project level as well as to our larger team of wildlife and terrestrial biology professionals. My focus always falls heavily on maintaining a high standard of quality, and promoting real-world, feasible, effective solutions for assessing, managing, and mitigating the effects of human development on wildlife and ecosystems.
