About Chris Ash

I am a professionally qualified banker with over 30 years experience in corporate finance. Over the last 15 years I have been predominantly involved in originating and structuring trade finance transactions. My career started in mainstream banking with roles at Coutts, Barclays, the ABL division of BNP and Lloyds International. I was then headhunted to set up the corporate turnaround division of First National Bank (now Santander) and following this became the co-founder and CEO of Trade Finance Partners, a London based trade fund, partnered with Macquarie Bank. I set up the London offices for Trade Finance Solutions INC, a Miami and Toronto based trade fund and more recently ExWorks Capital, a Chicago based ABL and Trade fund, with a sizeable fund under management. Specialising in the Energy and Waste Management sectors, I have advised on numerous large Project Finance Deals both in the UK and Africa, including Solar Farms and Hydro-Electric Power schemes. I also had a spell in industry as Group Finance Director of a substantial UK Printing Group, and have held many NED roles as well as numerous advisory positions. I speak regularly at international trade events, and I’m on the editorial committee for an international trade publication. I currently have trade opportunities in countries such as South Africa, Zambia, Ghana, Nigeria, Guinea and Morocco, as well as having extensive networks and funding opportunities available in the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.
