About Chris Bailey

When I was younger, I dreamed of becoming a physicist. I found physics to be profoundly interesting in the way it attempts to dig incredibly deep into the mysteries of the world around us. I started university in a Physics program, but once I had my first taste of coding I could never go back! There is so much depth in the field of software development. Personally I am interested in the full stack, but in any area you can continuously learn and will never run out of those wonderful 'aha' moments that are so invigorating for the brain. Right now I'm working as a senior software developer at RLDatix. The application I work on is focused on patient safety in hospital settings, and due to some difficult personal experiences with healthcare, I am extremely motivated by our mission which is safer patient care. In my current role I am exposed daily to absolutely everything across the full stack, from the cloud all the way to the front-end. With over 10 years of full stack development experience, I get to design entirely new features from the ground up: gathering requirements, planning the architecture, creating tickets for each task, writing the documentation, coding, testing, debugging, and releasing.
