About Chris Barnes

Currently a Supervisor in Drinking Water Distribution. Leading a team to maintain and operate fire hydrants, running boiler trucks, and handling tasks like dead end flushing, extremity testing, and return to service. Addressing water quality concerns and pressure complaints is vital for ensuring community safety and satisfaction. I currently hold a Water Level II Certification in Drinking Water and am preparing to write my Level Certification I have been very active in the hiring process and the development of new operators. Before my current role as a Supervisor, I spent four years as a field trainer with the City of Calgary, which provided me with a solid foundation in both technical skills and leadership. Transitioning from a field trainer to a Foreman and now a Supervisor has been a rewarding journey, allowing me to leverage my experience to mentor and guide my team effectively. Away from work, I am very active in the motorcycling community, where I help promote motorcycle safety. Additionally, my family and I are deeply involved in the Ukrainian community and are enthusiastic supporters of Rugby in Calgary.
