Dr. Chris Bart, FCPA, FCIoD, RCC, C.Dir. is the world’s leading expert on organizational mission statements (the most widely used management tool in the world) and how all organizations can use them more effectively to become “mission driven”. He is also the Founder of The Directors College of Canada where from its inception in 2003 to 2013, he served as its inaugural Principal and Lead Professor. He is currently leading his own international consulting firm Corporate Missions Inc.(corporatemissionsinc.com) and serves as the Founder and Executive Chairman of both the Caribbean Governance Training Institute and the Caribbean Institute of Directors. Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Bart has authored many books including: “The Mission Driven Hospital: Turning Noble Aspirations into Accountability and Action; the 10 year Canadian business best seller, “A Tale of Two Employees and the Person Who Wanted to Lead Them” and the widely acclaimed publications “20 Essential Questions Corporate Directors Should Ask About Strategy – 3rd Edition”; “20 Essential Questions Directors of Not-For-Profit Organizations Should Ask About Strategy; and “Achieving the Execution Edge: 20 Essential Questions Corporate Directors Need to Get Answered About Strategy Execution". He has also published over 190 articles, cases and reviews and is currently listed by SSRN (the Social Sciences Research Network) as being in the Top 10% of author downloads. Dr. Bart has received numerous awards and honours including receiving the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his service to Canada. More recently, in 2024, he was named a Top 50 Governance Professional by the U.S. National Association of Corporate Directors. Dr. Bart is listed in Canadian Who’s Who. He has been a board member of many corporate and NFP organizations. He is a past Trustee of the Committee for Economic Development of the United States and a former Director of St. Joseph’s Hospital.
