About Chris Bekos

I’ve been in software engineering for nearly 20 years, starting as a Java developer in banking and gradually moving into leadership roles. These days, I'm a Director of Technical Delivery in Sportserve, responsible for making delivery within Software Engineering teams as smooth as feasible, key focus on transparency, reliability and risk management. Before this, I've held technical leadership positions, managing larger engineering teams—up to 70 people—in Market research and in the Gaming industry, where I learned a lot about scaling teams and staying adaptable. What matters most to me is helping teams do great work while creating a space where people can grow and enjoy what they do. I try to keep a practical balance between getting things done and building a healthy, supportive culture. Outside of work, I split my time between two very different interests: experimenting in the kitchen and reading—sometimes fiction, sometimes tech and systems thinking. I enjoy digging into how things work, whether it's a recipe or a distributed system. Always happy to talk about engineering, leadership, or what you’re reading (or cooking) lately.
