About Chris Bevitt

I am a Principal and Practice Group Leader in the Commercial Law team at Spruson & Ferguson Lawyers specialising in intellectual property commercialisation, trade mark law and general commercial law. With more than 30 years' experience, I advise on a broad range of contractual and transactional matters including IT contracts, acquisitions and disposals of businesses and shares, company structuring, shareholders agreements, advertising and sponsorship contracts, trading terms and conditions and other commercial contracts. In the IP commercialisation area, I assist with joint ventures, licensing agreements, supply and distribution agreements and manufacturing agreements. I have a special interest in all aspects of information technology and communications law including software development, licensing and maintenance, outsourcing (IT and BPO), telecommunications contracts, ASP arrangements, e-commerce, Government Information Technology Conditions, and privacy law. I have also advised extensively on trade mark protection and registration. Plain language drafting is one of my great strengths. I have prepared a comprehensive plain language training manual and have run many training courses in using plain language.
