About Chris Bishop
I am a Clinical Biomechanist, Podiatrist and researcher based in Adelaide, South Australia. My passion is helping recreational runners reach their potential. When I founded The Biomechanics Lab, I was able translate research on human walking and running into clinical practice. We use 3D motion analysis technology to help runners stay injury free and improve their performance. We can now provide services to our patients that were previously only available to elite atheletes inside national institutes of sport or professional sporting clubs. My research career underpins what I do in terms of my clinical practice, teaching and professional education activities. With a special interest in sports medicine and Biomechanics, my research has largely focused on the effect of footwear on the human body during different tasks, and the role external loads have in the development of musculoskeletal injury.
