I am a self-taught security generalist with deep SIEM experience and a "balanced" pre-sales engineer. A liberal arts education gave me a broad frame of reference, while my inquisitive nature enables me to dive headfirst into the technical aspects of security. Years as a sales professional provide an intuitive understanding of both business drivers and the psychology of customers and partners.My ability to relate to people while providing technical expertise enables me to communicate effectively with SMEs and C-level executives alike. It allows me to craft solutions that not only address complex cybersecurity challenges but also map those solutions back to customer priorities. Not merely inquisitive, I have always enjoyed sharing what I know. I have taught in both corporate and academic settings. I am a former technical writer, and have extensive experience writing white papers and maintaining documentation. As an Instructor at ThriveDX, I have the privilege of mentoring future cybersecurity leaders, providing one-on-one guidance and classroom instruction that leverages my hands-on experience in SIEM and other security technologies. This dual engagement in both practical application and educational mentorship is the expression of my personal commitment to advancing cybersecurity knowledge and practice.Finally, my breadth of experience makes me able to contribute effectively to organizations at any stage of growth. I have contributed to several startups both at the very earliest stages and during the expansion phase and have been through corporate acquisitions. At the other end of the scale, I have also worked at some of the largest technology corporations in the world, selling to Fortune 100 customers. I have done a little bit of everything, everywhere, and I remain eager to learn and do even more.
