About Chris Carmichael

I have taken my experience and passion for AV and Integration and built a company around it. I have a solid foundation in every aspect of the 'Integrated smart home' and have worked with Builders, Clients and Integrators to put together some beautiful systems in some of the most prestigious homes around. Starting at a young age i enjoyed tinkering with my stereo system. Adding bigger speakers, Playing with EQ. When the time came to further my education I went to SAE and got my Diploma in Audio Engineering. I was all set for a career in the recording arts but the first stop was paying for that education. Following college I had some bills for my education to take care of. I was able to get a job for the local live sound company in town. Unfortunately the live sound division had no vacancies however, they had an install devision so i jumped at the chance to learn something new. Here i was in some of the most beautiful homes in the region installing sound systems and on a smaller lever, control systems. Finally, The bills were paid and it was time for me to see the world. After a couple of year of some sightseeing and life lessons (One of which was that the recording arts game was going to require a lot more patience and a far larger savings account than i had) I wound up in London, England jumping back into what was now my trade, an AV installer. Here I was exposed to a whole new level of integrated systems. Enormous fully integrated systems were an everyday occurrence now and i relished the opportunity to soak it all up and learn as much as I could. Next stop Vancouver, Canada, Making my way through the ranks from Junior AV installer to Crestron programmer. working on the most exclusive homes in the province and for the most highly regarded companies in the business. 7 years later InterSystem Controls gets started and there has been no looking back since.
