About Chris Carr

I am currently working for a rapidly growing broadband company dealing with legal issues and developing my business development skills. I have spent the last year seeing what life beyond the legal profession held as the Head of Asset Delivery for Abri (formerly Radian) which taught me a lot about surveying and fire safety. Previously I have worked in the Housing sector since 2004 starting out as a Paralegal and from 2016 - 2020 I lead the New Homes Sales team as a Senior Associate at Blake Morgan. I am an accomplished manager coaching several members of my team to promotion and qualification. I am used to working with budgets and profit and loss accounts as a team leader and have successfully lead the team to become a successful, dependable and agile team capable of flexing with very little effort to meet the changing market place. I am a specialist in Shared Ownership and the Right to Buy/Acquire but my primary role as a lawyer was to assist clients with the management of their property portfolios, identifying re-development opportunities and how to create new estates. I am well known for my crisis management skills and my ability to think clearly and logically under pressure. When clients have a problem they know that I am a reliable, safe pair of hands that will help 'steer them off the rocks and back to open waters again'. My management and leadership skills along with my interpersonal expertise means that I am able to help both with staff and legal issues. I have experience in developing and implementing process driven work and have helped create several case management systems and am widely regarded for my process driven approach to work types, being able to create processes for more transactional work that are effective and widely adopted. The mental (as well as physical) well being of my team is important and I am a firm believing in creating a work place (or rather a work situation in these days of remote working) that does not negatively impact on a person's mental wellbeing. I am also Mental Health First Aider. I believe HSE regulations need to be updated to include protection from mental harm in addition to physical harm. I view having shelter as a fundamental and inalienable human right that should be afforded to everyone as well have the benefit of education and the security of knowing that you are safe. It is my career aspiration to one day be in a position when I can directly work to make this a reality.
