About Chris Chavers

As a National Policy and Programs Organizer at Transgender Law Center (TLC), I work with team members to implement strategic development around political campaigns, policy buildout, legal strategy, organizing, political education, and diversity, equity, and inclusion work within institutions and organizations. I manage and execute programmatic efforts and strengthen organizing and community building, supporting the development of public facing educational, political, and rapid response materials. I am pursuing a Master's degree in International Service in Ethics, Peace, and Human Rights at American University, where I aim to deepen my knowledge and skills in creating impactful change on a global scale. I have a Bachelor's degree in Social Justice Studies / Community Engagement from Antioch College, where I obtained and excelled in leadership positions, such as Board Trustee, Co-President of Council, and Project Specialist at Coretta Scott King Center. I have also received multiple honors and awards for my activism and advocacy, such as the Coretta Scott King Justice Award and the Black Student Union Change Maker Award. I am eager to continue to solve problems and find better ways for creating impactful change.
