Background
About Chris Chock
Chris has over 25 years of experience in the IT Industry and over 22 years of expertise in the cyber-security field, in industries ranging from public transportation, to biotech, to finance. His skills range from security engineering, secure architecture, to security program development and management. Chris has spent over 10 years supporting companies looking to pass SOC2 audits and NIST CSF assessments. His mission is to use the insight he gained while working at several Fortune 500 companies and use those experiences to help businesses improve their security operations. His goal is to help organizations avoid the thrashing effect that happens when they chase audits findings, lack a proper organizational security culture, or when security solutions have been improperly or incompletely deployed. Prior to coming to CISOShare, he has helped several mid-sized and large enterprises strategize on how to simplify their complex security challenges considering four key perspectives: Sociological, Technical, Physical, and Process. While working for OCTA he implemented the agency’s first enterprise security program, which has since become the model used for the entire transit industry. He also chaired the Cyber-Security group for American Public Transportation Association, a standards organization which represents over transit agencies throughout the world. Chris has also contributed to the security field by speaking at numerous security conferences and forums on the topic of security management; including RSA, the largest IT Security conference in the United States. Additionally, he has been a contributor and editor of the CISO Handbook: A Practical Guide to Securing Your Company, and CISO Soft Skills: Securing Organizations Impaired by Employee Politics, Apathy, and Intolerant Perspectives.
