About Chris Corley
I have worked at my family's winery, MONTICELLO, for 37 years, since I was 16. I started rolling barrels around the cellar and plunging my arms into bins of fermenting grapes as soon as I had a drivers license to get back and forth to work.My interest and desire for making wine has grown with every vintage, and I took over as Winemaker in after 13 years of apprenticeship as Cellar Apprentice, Journeyman and Master, then Assistant Winemaker. I continue to be entranced and fascinated by winemaking and wine itself. I always will be.As I approach my 40th year at MONTICELLO, my role at MONTICELLO has continued to expand naturally over the years to overseeing the Vineyards and Winegrowing, Domestic and Export Wholesale Sales, and the management of the estate.In my executive capacity, I serve as Vice President, and as a longtime director on our Board of Directors. I draw much satisfaction from making wines that express our family's land, and take great pride in carrying on a tradition of family stewardship that our father, John Jay Corley, started more than 50 years ago.
