About Chris Digiovanni

Chris earned his production stripes at MTV in the fast pace of New York City's live-action scene before moving west to join the then-upstart CG house Pixar. After almost a decade that included 7 feature and 8 short films. His crew's efforts yielding 22 Academy Award Nominations, 7 Oscars and 6 Golden Globes for Pixar. Chris returned home to New York where he was named Production Manager at Blue Sky Animation Studios working with Steve Carell and Jim Carrey on "Dr. Seuss'​ Horton Hears a Who!"​(20th Century Fox). In 2008 Starz Animation in Toronto locked Chris down to work alongside Tim Burton on "9"​(Focus Features), and Elton John on "Gnomeo and Juliet"​(Touchstone). As Head of Production at Hawaii Animation Studios in Honolulu, Chris spent 2 years building this CG boutique from the ground up, as well as partner with the University of Hawaii to design an intense intern animation program(mirroring Pixar's) run through the studio for animation students. In 2011 he was named First Assistant Director on "Free Birds"​, and in 2013 stayed on to help produce "Book of Life" with DirectorJorge Gutierrez and Producers Guillermo del Toro and Aron Warner at Reel FX Animation Studios. For the past 9 years Chris has worked at Baby Giant Studios where he is CEO/Managing Partner and Co-Founder. 7 years ago, Chris also launched his own production company 8 mm Entertainment and has since expanded to add a new record label 808 Vinyl.
