About Chris Downer

I find it difficult to articulate my skillsets and accomplishments on paper. I've spent my entire life seeking knowledge and gathering the tools and materials to apply what I've learned. I am exclusively self educated and know very well the value and cost of my education. I can comfortably say that I have forty plus years of working knowledge that grows every day. I think the most practical way to define this experience is simply by laying out who I am in the simple format below. There are no modern "buzzwords" or phrases that will embellish my abilities, nor would I hope to need them at this point in my career. Chris Downer is :> A thoroughly seasoned "Mechanic" in the broadest and oldest sense of the word >Familiar with virtually all manner of building systems and infrastructure.>Enamored with the machinery and tools that allow us to build, create, and maintain the world around us.>Well versed in a broad variety of materials and their properties so as to select the right medium for a job.> Able to "scrye" into a problem and use sound logic to fix an issue.> A creative thinker who specializes in solving problems with realistic solutions.> A "Maker", who actually designs and builds the solutions to issues.> An old school "wrench" who runs a straight game even when it hurts. I have built my shop, rebuilt my house, rebuilt engines small and large, restored woodworking machinery, built many wooden toys, built boats, built and fixed and restored bicycles and motorbikes, and oh so much more!
