About Chris Farrell

I am a collaborative Finance Director with the determination and work ethic to grow businesses by creating value and improving processes to facilitate that growth. I am driven by executional excellence, doing things right and ultimately turning profit into cash. I am experienced in all areas of finance and well versed across multiple industries including Software, Tech, Data, FMCG, Manufacturing, Health and Managed Services. I lead by example and encourage curiosity with the aim of building forward looking, agile finance teams that can support and guide business growth. Developing a future finance leader is always one of my personal objectives. At present, I am FD at Smart Capital Technology which has just gone through an MBO and am business partnering with our CEO to support our high growth plans. Before that, I lead the UK Finance team at a large US data company to greatly improve: cash conversion, financial governance, revenue growth management, forecasting and audit compliance. I had ownership of the £100m UK group P&L and balance sheet management. I also worked directly with the US corporate finance team on adhoc projects such as acquisition integrations, entity structure simplification and tax planning. When I am not on the job, I am a family man and keep active through various sports.
