About Chris Finney

Chris Finney is a product of the local Pasadena area where OBA resides. Chris comes to OBA by way of the Gang Institute‟s 20/20 initiative to conduct gang prevention/intervention in Los Angeles County. Chris‟ background makes him uniquely qualified to mentor this population as he transitioned from gang life himself. Chris joined OBA as a Crew Leader in OBA‟s Environmental Restoration Teams (ERT) program. He worked as an ERT Lead crew member before being tapped to become a Program Leader and Classroom Instructor in OBA‟s Gang Prevention Program (GPP), Drop-out Recovery program (DOR) and Youth Leadership Development (YLD) Program. Chris‟ experience leading young men and women into their own transitional experience has been a huge advantage for OBA‟s gang impact initiatives. Chris is a member of the Parent Leadership/Parent Anonymous program, supported by the US Congress. He represents Congressman Adam Schiff‟s District in this program where parents work together in developing Individual Education Plans for academic enhancement for Pasadena students. Chris was invited to Washington DC to address a consortium of congressmen to update them on the successful outcomes from this program. In 2008 He received an award from Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa for Outstanding Achievement Mentee helps meet the needs of your customers.
