About Chris Flood

Chris is an honours degree qualified mechanical engineer with more than 20 years experience within the Building Services Industry providing services including: • Energy and thermal modelling of various building types including new and existing commercial, institutional and residential buildings • Advanced Mechanical System, Facade and Daylight Modelling & Optimization • LEED, BCBC, VBBL, BREEAM, Title 24, ASHRAE & NECB Modelling Expertise • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Expertise Chris is approved by the Canadian Green Building Council (CaGBC) as an Experienced Modeller and also teaches Energy Modelling for Building Professionals at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) Downtown Campus in Vancouver, BC. Working on a broad range of projects, Chris takes each from initial concept design modelling to final model results and reportage. He works closely with clients and design teams in an integrated design approach to identify appropriate design strategies geared towards improving energy performance, indoor air quality and thermal comfort. He also provides ongoing analysis through the design and preparation of building analysis reports to present results of energy and thermal modelling, greenhouse gas emissions analysis and research findings. Chris also prepares and delivers presentations to clients and/or design teams. Chris believes that every building has the potential to consume less energy. With that philosophy in mind, Chris’ strength lies in the ability to calculate, interpret, analyze and report on the energy performance of all building types. His strong communication skills allow him to operate effectively with clients and design teams under the integrated design process.
