About Chris Foote

One of the things that originally drew me to the IT industry was the versatility of the field. As someone who has always had a wide variety of interests, I'm fascinated by the way that technology connects people and acts as a foundation for so many different types of work. My work rewards critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills, and I'm fascinated by the real-world applications of these processes. Because of my job, I've had opportunities to work in a diverse variety of environments ranging from schools and hospitals to islands and literal underground mines. Each new situation bring it's own unique set of challenges, and it's those challenges that make this work so rewarding. I love the feeling of being faced with unique challenges, designing a solution, testing that solution, and seeing the end result. Specifically, these passions have lead me to networking, cloud architecture, and, more recently, Infrastructure as Code (IaC). I always welcome a new challenge as an opportunity to learn a new skill and collaborate with others. Despite the fact that technology is an ever-changing field, I've found that as long as you have a strong foundation of critical thinking and a willingness to learn, you can always succeed.
