Background
About Chris Fredi
Chris Fredi has advocated for the use of technology as a design tool since beginning to practice architecture in 2005. Working with BIM software since before starting his career, he is passionate about advocacy and education about BIM processes with a focus on how to gain efficiency firmwide and on project teams. His achievements have been to capture value by using thorough and collaborative BIM processes, along with other advanced technologies. Initially working in healthcare for national firms ZGF and SERA Architects, Chris has served as a design team member, BIM Manager (before the title officially existed), and helped to develop overall BIM strategies at multiple firms. Formerly with EOP Architects in Lexington, Kentucky, Chris served as a design team member across all large projects and firm-wide design technology leader heralding change, understanding, and interest in technology while continuing to work extensively in healthcare. He added large Civic works to his project portfolio collaborating with national firms HOK and NBBJ. Most recently at AVAIL (getavail.com), Chris served as Customer Success Manager and continued to use his passion for education and advocacy to address inefficiencies that plague all AEC professionals. Chris worked directly with teams inside of firms adopting AVAIL and implementing technology to manage their design processes. Chris communicates needs, desires, and drove the first growth and strategy both for AVAIL and for the companies that AVAIL works with. Chris’ portfolio of work has well over a billion dollars of work in it, including Randall Children's Hospital in Portland, Oregon, Denver Children's Hospital in Aurora, Colorado (ZGF Architects), The Collaborative Life Sciences Building & Skourtes Tower in Portland, Oregon (SERA Architects), the Rupp Arena / Lexington Convention Center renovations in Lexington, Kentucky and the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Kentucky (EOP Architects, NBBJ, HOK).
