About Chris Guy

Completed a four year course in Marine engineering and various Deep Sea and coasting voyages. I then worked for a short while on light aircraft. I then began working in the Drilling industry. I commenced work with Foraky UK ltd, starting as roughneck and working my way to Driller. Main experience was to include slim hole drilling coring and wireline work mapping coal seams for NCB using trailer mounted land rig, Kelly drilling with some directional work. I then started work with Kenting drilling services Ltd working in UK and Europe on Oil and Gas projects using trailer mounted rigs and cantilever rigs with box on box substructure TOP drive and Kelly drilling. Rotary steerable, mud motors and mwd tools Oil and water based muds Associated safety, drilling and maintenance documentation. I then had my own business working for myself in the haulage industry( 12yrs).Then drove as employed driver for Rugby Cement, TNT, Cemex and some Agency work. I returned to Drilling working for Simmons Edeco Europe Ltd as Assistant Driller, working in the Georgian Republic for 18 mths. Then working for P R Marriott Drilling Ltd in Kenya initially as Assistant Driller on a geothermal project in Kenya and then as Driller in northern Kenya on Oil and Gas contracted to Tullow Oil. Contract terminated in March 2016. I then worked for TEP Machinery movements via Agency, Duties include movement of forktrucks and equipment and machinery Using HGV /stepframe low loader. Assisting with delivery and installations. I returned to Drilling with PRMarriott Drilling Ltd on new contract, on completion of that I resumed work with TEP directly. I then returned to work with PR Marriott Drilling on United Downs Deep Geothermal Project in Cornwall on completion of that project moved on to the start of well abandonment project with PR Marriotts in Mozambique for Sasol. On furlough from April 2020 due to COVID-19.
