BSc (Hons) CMIOSH MIIRSM Tech IFE ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor I am currently working for STRABAG UK as the CDM Lead for the SCS team on HS2 Main Works S1/S2. My role involves managing the delivery of Reg 9 Designer duties with a focus on helping to ensure that hazards and risks are eliminated or reduced so far as reasonably practicable. I liaise with both the Senior Leadership at SCS and also the Principal Designer. Additionally I provide training and carry out audits.My STRABAG role involves the provision of strategic advice, the development of CDM procedures and and guidance as well bid support.Previously I spent a decade leading the London Health and Safety Consultancy team at Arup, a global engineering and professional services consultancy employing over people in 39 countries. Based in London I worked with high profile global clients in the Infrastructure, nuclear, highways, banking, facilities management, manufacturing, aerospace, energy and broadcasting sectors. The team delivered varied consultancy services, including strategic advice, safety culture diagnostics, behavioural change programmes, training, accident investigation, auditing and inspections. We also provided CDM related services including Client Advisory and Principal Designer support.As a Chartered Safety Practitioner with many years’ experience in a variety of sectors, I have managed health and safety at a corporate level and provided consultancy services. Utilising the technical expertise of many disciplines within Arup, I have managed multidisciplinary teams on international safety and environmental consultancy projects in the UK, Europe and Africa. Having previously acted as CDM-C on a number of high profile building and infrastructure projects including the Olympic Park in Stratford, I recently fulfilled the role of CDM Manager for the Design House (Arup, Typsa and Strabag) on Lots S1 and S2 of ythe Hs2 Main Works Contracts. As well as developing IOSH accredited training courses and have teaching on the NEBOSH Construction Certificate, I have also developed bespoke courses such as CDM for Designers and H&S for Directors.
