About Chris Hendrie

From founding support groups for queer students to researching the psychology behind the bias held against them, I’ve cultivated a passion for supporting others in living their most fulfilling and authentic lives. Once burdened by struggles with identity, depression, and anxiety, I know how arduous the process of getting better is. I became intimately acquainted with mental health services in searching for ways to help those who shared my struggles. I channeled my frustration with the lack of resources, education, and support into creating those systems myself and extending them to others in whatever ways I could. I devoted my academic and personal endeavors to understanding the connections between mental health and axes of marginalization and how we can use this knowledge to create a more equitable future. I hope to use my skills in leadership and community development and apply them to organizations that share my passion for helping others. I want to illuminate the potential of every individual to not only live a satisfying life, but to do so while wholeheartedly embodying and accepting their identities.
