About Chris Herrett

Chris works as a Bid Manager for Galliford Try (GT) in their Digital Infrastructure BU. He is SC cleared and recently completed a tender submission for a £20m Defence Infrastructure Organisation two stage project. Chris has successfully used GT processes and corporate governance, promoting sustainable work streams. He has managed end-to-end bid processes in different construction sectors, including highways, aviation, building construction, defence and telecoms. By combining best practice proposal management knowledge with organisational and language skills, Chris leads the development of compliant, clear and customer focused PQQ and tender responses ranging in value from £100k to £250m. He has experience of single stage, two-stage and framework call off tendering. Chris uses tender documents, internal insight and research to create bid strategies containing win themes and section themes. Internal and external feedback is used to drive continuous improvement of performance. In all of his bid roles, Chris has stored and managed standard answers, case studies and CVs. He held responsibility for the financial elements of bid submissions in a previous role as Commercial Bid Manager and has knowledge of NEC forms of contract. Chris previously managed a Junior Bid Manager, providing professional coaching and developing their business contribution. He is keen to increase his management experience to include pre-construction. Before becoming involved in bidding, Chris developed expert knowledge in strategic management and experience in market analysis, business consultancy and business journalism.
