About Chris Huffaker

Chris Huffaker focuses his practice on advising payment card networks, financial institutions, merchants and processors on a wide range of transactional and regulatory matters. Chris regularly advises clients in negotiating complex agreements, including card-acceptance, card-issuing, processing and services agreements, and in establishing strategic alliances and private-label programs. In addition, Chris assists operators of payment systems in establishing the rules governing access to and use of their systems and advises acquirers, merchants and other participants in understanding and complying with their obligations under the operating regulations of the card associations. Chris has extensive experience advising payment system participants, including start-ups and online marketplaces, with respect to the licensing requirements and regulatory obligations applicable to the transmission of money. Prior to joining the firm, Chris served as legislative director for a leading member of the U.S. House of Representatives. In this role, Chris counseled the congressman on a broad range of issues, including financial services matters.
