About Chris Jay

I help clients build long-term success by aligning top teams with the vision of the senior leader, and building personal leadership capacity in all leaders. I focus on the three areas of impact - Know, Think, and Connect. Know: the knowledge of yourself - your identity, purpose, strengths - and drive to uncover your essential compassion as a human. Think: Define, structure, prioritize what is important, synthesize, and then build alignment with teams. Connect: the ability to communicate deeply and persuasively, and flex your personal style accordingly. Listen deeply; assert clearly and fearlessly; inspire; recognize and reduce conflict; gain alignment through dialogue; communicate across cultures, genders, ethnic identities. Without all three legs, the tripod will not stand. With all three, leaders can develop the personal presence and power to meaningfully change organizational direction and people’s lives. I use the tools of The Leadership Circle Profile, MBTI, Strengths Finder, storytelling, Bazi Profiling, and the analytical approach developed by McKinsey. I also base much of my work on my experience as a Zen monk for 7 years in Japan, and over 25 years of Tibetan Buddhist meditation practice.
