About Chris Johnstone

Chris is a Director at Guidehouse Consulting. He works closely with international donor clients, including US Government agencies and multilateral development banks to help create enabling environments conducive to sustainable economic development and investment. Chris has been a critical part of several large and complex initiatives in sub-Saharan, Asia, the MIddle east covering investment promotion, international cooperation, reconstruction and recovery assistance, and power sector reform. His power sector reform experience covers on and off-grid projects, designing enabling environments to help create market clarity and provide the tools necessary for scale. Chris has a reputation for effective project management, attention to detail, and a passion for 'how things work'. He holds a bachelor's in science from Cornell University, and master's degrees in international affairs (MA) and business administration (MBA). He is also proficient in French.
