About Chris Laughter

Currently working as a Case Manager working with Nuclear Weapons Handlers and Uranium Miners with related illnesses due to exposure. I have been a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah since 2007. As a team leader on staff, my experience has taught me the value of being able to coach and lead others in an effort to provide the best care possible to patients. Promoting healthy practices and encouraging someone to strive for their best health can result in improved quality of life and sense of well-being regardless of where they presently are on their health continuum. Ideally the goal is to move to the healthier end as opposed to the sicker end. Chronic illness can have a negative impact on a person’s psycho-emotional state and it is generally best for folks to be in their own familiar environment. I love this statement from my current employer: “… providing the best possible care in the best possible place – the home”. Providing medical services for the special population of nuclear weapons and uranium workers is an awesome endeavor and I have enjoyed the opportunity to be part of this team of professionals. For numerous years, I was able to work ICU in a travel assignment to Boise, ID in the COVID-19, Jordan Valley Hospital COVID-19, Timpanogos Hospital as well as the VA Medical Center in SLC, Utah to serve my fellow military Veterans. Additionally, I have experience managing a daily caseload as a Clinical Documentations Specialist where I reviewed medical records and assessed course of treatment, lab values, and queried doctors as needed for clarification of diagnoses appropriate for Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement. I have enjoyed my transition from the bedside into Case Management and I am excited for future opportunities.
