About Chris Lazo

I'm currently a Utility Field Technician at Mi-Tech Services, Inc, where I perform field inspections for the utility pole, utility locating, data collection of utility pole attachments and midspans. With a strong focus on safety, accuracy, efficiency, and communication, I help ensure that the utility pole data are properly recorded to ensure that it follows clearance regulations for the safety of workers and the public. As a Utility Locator at Equix, I helped ensure the safety and success of excavation and construction projects by accurately identifying and marking underground utilities. I communicated about the status of the job to clients, to contractors, and to supervisors to ensure all goes smoothly with no confusion or concerns. With a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and attention to detail, to ensure I worked to prevent service disruptions, costly damages, and keep job sites and the public secure. I'm passionate about meteorology and GIS—an interest that began early and has shaped my personal, academic and professional path. I hold a B.S. in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology from St. Cloud State University and a GIS certificate from Itasca Community College. Through my education, I’ve developed strong skills in atmospheric data analysis, geospatial mapping, and visualization using a range of tools and software.
