About Chris Long

With more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, and a holder of four professional designations, Chris is uniquely qualified to assist client’s in reaching their financial goals. As a Certified Financial Planner, Chris meets recognized international standards of knowledge, skills and abilities that assist in providing well thought out and custom tailored Financial Plans. Chris Long offers a wide range of financial services including wealth management, advanced retirement and estate planning, philanthropy, business transition, succession planning, insurance solutions (life, disability, critical illness, long-term care, small business, segregated funds), severance and pension transfer strategies, IPP/RCA’s, and tax planning. When Chris is not assisting clients and spending time with his family, he enjoys playing hockey year-round, skiing, biking, hiking and travel. If you want to be witness to Chris’s eyes lighting up, talk about some interesting food dishes! He enjoys cooking a variety of foods. Chris has an easy-going personality which often leads to client’s becoming friends. Some are closing in on the 20-year mark! If you want some chuckles, bring along an acquaintance to play golf with Chris. He fancies the game but only golfs a few times a year! As a devoted father, Chris sought to volunteer and fundraise for an organization that reaches out to children. At the time, Chris was volunteering at the Kanata Food Cupboard. The search ended in 2009 with an introduction to The Zone, a Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre (WOCRC) youth drop-in centre. The centre was a perfect fit! It offers continuous support and counselling for youth, a bully prevention program, homework club, provides a safe environment for critical after school hours, and provides resources for parents and caregivers.
