researched issues related to likely adoption patterns of microgrids, retired in June 2013 from Berkeley Lab, after an almost 30-yr relationship, led the Technology Evaluation, Modeling, and Assessment, and Deputy Led the Grid Integration Groups within the Energy Technologies Area. Also, operated the Microgrid Design of Mendocino (MgDoM) consultancy until 2020, and served as a Visiting Scholar at the Trottier Institute for Sustainability in Engineering and Design (TISED) at McGill University over the winter of 2016-17, led the U.S-China Climate Change Working Group Smart Grid, Benefits Subgroup that successfully published a joint white paper on Smart Grid Assessment, was a founding member of the Consortium of Electric Reliability Solutions (CERTS) team, developed methods for the economic evaluation of microgrids leading to development of the DER Customer Adoption Model (DER-CAM) first proposed at the turn of the century, conducts collaborative research with Berkeley Lab, and is a affiliate of the Energy and Resources group at U.C.
