About Chris Newman

I began my career as a Floor Director/Chyron Infinit operator at WITI-TV Milwaukee.(1994-1996) I was promoted to Graphic Designer at the same station.(1996 - I then took a Senior Designer position at WISH-TV Indianapolis which evolved into Design Director for WISH-TV and two other stations (WNDY and WIIH Indianapolis), which then evolved to Graphics Operations Manager for all of those stations.(2001 - 2022) In late 2022 I left my position at WISH-TV for a graphic designer position at WRTV Indianapolis, the local Scripps ABC affiliate.(2022 - 2023) In late 2023 I left WRTV for the Graphics Manager position at WXIN/WTTV (FOX59/CBS4) Indianapolis.(Sept 2023 - present) Over the course of my career I have developed, maintained and administered automated news/graphics workflow systems with Avid Deko, Chyron and Ross Video technologies. I have been involved in multiple set builds from layout to design to implementation. My primary skill set is 2D & 3D still and animation design for broadcast, print and web.
