About Chris Newman

I have been working with both young people & adults with a variety of needs from Complex health needs to Childhood trauma for 23+ years, 16 of these years were for a local authority. I have had the pleasure to work within a number of residential services which have included open children’s home and within the secure estate. In 2014 I consolidated all my experience and learning, and qualified as a Social Worker. After leaving the local authority I started working for a Charity working with people with a learning disabilities in the role of, Director of Care and support services. After a short tenure and a great experience I have moved on to take up the role of Deputy Head of Residential Services for a residential child care, leading an amazing team of registered managers as well as being the RI for our nine homes, followed by short stint as an agency social worker, I am Operations manager for Advance Uk providing housing, support and other community related services, specialising in supporting people with learning difficulties and mental health conditions, alongside a number of different types of services, including small-scale residential care homes, supported living services, shared ownership homes
