About Chris Nuttall

Award-winning journalist with multi-decade experience in newspapers, magazines, radio, TV and online at local, national and international levels. At the BBC for 17 years and has spent the past 24 with the Financial Times. Served as a foreign correspondent in Sri Lanka, Washington and Turkey as well as in a roving role for the BBC. Turned a late 80s geeky interest into a professional focus on the internet and technology and was founding World Editor of the BBC News website and the BBC''s first Internet Correspondent. Latterly, a Technology correspondent for the FT, based in its San Francisco bureau for nine years. Returned to London in 2013 to work on the FT's new breaking news service, fastFT, before becoming a writer and developer on the new newsletter team, creating the FT Opening Quote morning City newsletter and the #techFT daily email. Moved to become Tech Media Telecoms editor in the newsroom, commissioning and editing TMT stories from FT correspondents around the world, before returning to newsletters in November 2017. Joined new Techdesk in 2019 as assistant editor and editor/lead writer on a relaunched #techFT technology newsletter. Moved to Hong Kong in 2022 as Asia Companies and Markets Editor.
