About Chris Oconnor

I am a Field Supervisor with the Security Services Division of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, where I have been serving for over two years. I have more than 34 years of law enforcement, investigation, and security experience, and I hold a BS degree in Criminal Justice and POST Advanced and Supervisory certifications. My core competencies include threat assessment, crisis negotiation, workplace violence prevention, and supervising diverse teams. I lead and support a team of Threat Management Detectives, Deputies, and Security Officers who provide security and law enforcement services for the division contracts and supervised the Metropolitan Red Light Enforcement Program. I also conduct and review threat assessments and investigations, develop and implement action and prevention plans, provide training and consultation on security practices, and coordinate with other stakeholders. I aim to protect and serve the community with integrity, professionalism, and compassion. I am always eager to learn and grow, and I am proud to be part of a dedicated and collaborative team that strives to ensure the safety and well-being of the public and the staff.
