About Chris Pelton

Chris Pelton is an American entrepreneur, water treatment specialist, and the president of Pure Water Northwest, Better Water Alaska, and Poseidon Water Products. He is widely recognized in the water treatment industry for his expertise in water chemistry and his contributions to solving complex water quality issues. Pelton is ranked as one of the top water chemistry experts in the U.S, holding the distinction of being #6 in the country for residential water treatment. Pelton began his career in the water treatment industry in Colville, Washington, working at Fogle Pump and Supply as a water treatment technician. Over the years, he gained experience in well drilling, well pump technology, and water treatment. In 2015, he founded Pure Water Northwest, which has since become the leading water treatment company in Washington State. The company specializes in addressing a wide range of water quality issues, including hardness, iron, arsenic, and bacteria. In 2019, Pelton expanded his entrepreneurial ventures by founding Poseidon Water Products, a company focused on developing proprietary water treatment systems. Poseidon offers a range of advanced water treatment products, including multi-blend systems like the NitroTitan, Tannin Titan, and Arsenic Titan, which utilize innovative media combinations to address specific water contaminants. Pelton's goal with Poseidon was to control the distribution chain and ensure the quality of the products he offered to his customers. In 2020, Pelton expanded into Alaska with the launch of Better Water Alaska, based in the Matsu Valley. He continues to serve as the president of all three companies while also overseeing the water science and chemistry for each of them. Pelton is a Master Water Specialist and has earned recognition from industry peers for his expertise in water chemistry and residential water treatment. He was ranked as the #6 water chemistry expert in the U.S. by industry experts. Pelton has also contributed to the Water Quality Association (WQA) as a mentor, helping other professionals in the water treatment industry. He is known for his hands-on approach, frequently working on installations and providing on-the-job training, despite his leadership roles. Throughout his career, Pelton has been a key figure in tackling some of the most challenging water quality issues in Washington State. His work has helped to advance water treatment solutions that address a wide variety of contaminants, from cyanide, arsenic, uranium, PFAS, and iron bacteria, to common issues such as household hardness.
